New York   to   Houston

 He Said...

Let her tell it , I pursued her. When you have time, I’ll tell you the REAL truth. It started on a church retreat. I tore my knee up, and she took great care of me. That weekend showed me

how great of a person Robyn is. I found out what her favorite song was and texted the lyrics to her promising to sing it to her. From there, the rest is history. Once I realized this is the woman in which I want to spend the rest of my life with, I decided to pack my bags and relocate to Houston. Having some time to do a little soul searching, I decided to put my big boy pants on and get my knee a little dirty and ask her hand in marriage. On March 27th, I popped the question, and just as I thought she said yes. I am definitely looking forward to the next chapter in our journey.

barely spoke, which was typical. I thought to myself, “I’ll never speak to him at church (rudeness).” Fast forward four years later: we are on a church retreat (a boot camp for 20-30 something’s) and Chris was placed in the group that I led. He pretended that he hurt his knee during the team tug-a-war and needed me to help him get around throughout the duration of the retreat (as if Robbie and Aaron wasn’t there). To make matters worse, we got stuck in a hurricane and had to stay an additional day without water or lights (FYI: Chris was stinky when he asked for my number)! The next day, he texted me the lyrics to my favorite song and wrote, “learning it now — can’t wait to sing it you!” But I never got serenaded. Four years later, he asked me to be his wife and I obliged him by saying, YES!

She Said...

The first time I met Chris was on a summer day in Brooklyn. He was walking with his godmother, Jocelyn, (whom I knew from church).
